Description
Summary:The study focused on evaluating the quality of drinking water in the central zone of Manabí, analyzing physicochemical and microbiological parameters according to INEN 1108. Triplicate samples from pumping stations (A, B, C and D) were analyzed. The results showed compliance with regulations in color, turbidity, pH, and the absence of heavy metals and parasites such as Giardia and Cryptosporidium. However, a high correlation of fecal coliforms was observed between Points A and B, and nitrate levels close to the permitted limit. In conclusion, although the water mostly complies with regulations, certain inconsistencies could indicate potential contamination affecting the health of the population.
