The objective of the research is to analyze the methodological context of the knowledge economy in the development of agrotourism; for which a mixed method was used framed in two approaches: documentary and exploratory, taking as reference the index of knowledge economy proposed by the World Bank. As a result, it was concluded that the foundation of theories and meanings of agrotourism, sustainable rural development, entrepreneurial culture, employability and knowledge-based economy contributed to the development of a program of tourist dynamism, which generated the development of agrotourism ventures and increased employability. which promoted the increase of an inclusive economy with respect to the economically active population of the parish of the Peninsula of Ambato canton of Tungurahua province. |

La transferencia de conocimientos permite que un individuo se convierta en innovador, fomentando el incremento de emprendimientos y empleo. La investigación tiene como objetivo analizar el contexto metodológico de la economía del conocimiento en el desarrollo del agroturismo; para lo cual se empleó un método mixto enmarcado en dos enfoques: documental y exploratorio, tomando como referencia al índice de economía del conocimiento propuesto por el Banco Mundial. Como resultado se concluyó que la fundamentación de teorías y acepciones de agroturismo, desarrollo rural sostenible, cultura emprendedora, empleabilidad y economía del conocimiento coadyuvaron al desarrollo de un programa de dinamización turística, mismo que generó el desarrollo de emprendimientos agroturísticos y aumento de empleabilidad, lo cual promovió el incremento de una economía inclusiva respecto a la población económicamente activa de la parroquia La Península del cantón Ambato de la provincia de Tungurahua.
