In their novels, urban space appears a way for questioning the established canon, since the literary representation of the real city arises from a new urban rhetoric: one that elaborates other ways of conceiving the relationship between signifier and signification according to the real referent –whether urban, landscape, maps, cartographies, inhabitation–, and the imaginary communicative situation inherent to novels. |
