Summary:Physical Education plays an essential role in the holistic development of students. The development of motor competence and the interaction between its components enhance physical fitness and promote cognitive, social, and emotional growth. The objective of this study was to analyze the relationship between three components of competence—physical fitness, basic motor skills, and general dynamic coordination—in primary school students, as well as their impact on their holistic development. The study was conducted during the 2021–2022 academic year with 48 Spanish participants with a mean age of 9.75 (± 0.39) years. The findings demonstrate the close relationship between the different components of motor competence and reinforce the need to design and implement comprehensive motor programs in Physical Education that promote the coordinated development of physical fitness, basic motor skills, and general dynamic coordination, thus contributing to a more complete and balanced education for students in the school setting.
