Opis
Izvleček:The direct, structural, and cultural violence experienced by individuals leads to human rights violations, which highlights the state’s inability to prevent or ensure due diligence when they occur. When individuals suffer from human rights violations, they endure traumatic events that in turn generate various forms of crisis. At this point, individuals become victims, and their life projects are altered as a result of these experiences. In response, victims require processes to confront these crises, as well as to construct their respective paths towards closure. This entire process involves reparations, which are not solely legal instruments, as they require social support and accompaniment. In this regard, the concept of reparations must surpass the traditional notion of completeness, as it implies reverting the situation to the moments before the traumatic events, which is unrealistic. In the face of this limitation, transformative reparations open up a realm of action to dismantle the structures that facilitated human rights violations and thereby foster contexts of harmonious coexistence and peace.
