Summary:This article focuses on the texts El libro flotante de Caytran Dölphin and Kazbek by the Ecuadorian author Leonardo Valencia. Both are approached from a discussion of the post-national, seeking to unravel the senses that the re-working of spaces raises both concerning the narrative fact as well as the reader’s experience about their knowledge about the fact of the “city”, in this case Guayaquil, in addition to the national reference point, always with a nod towards the national discourses established by the critics.
