The results obtained lead us to conclude that the national cinema does not stop and that in the midst of an evident crisis it is generating new scenarios and virtual platforms, where the audiovisual producers have the challenge of providing solutions to the requirements of art with technological, conceptual and aesthetic proposals. It is important to think not only in the present but also in the cinema of the future that is now in cyberspace. |

It is important to think not only in the present but also in the cinema of the future that is now in cyberspace.El presente artículo analiza el modo en que se planteó el desarrollo de la producción de cine nacional en la ciudad de Quito durante la pandemia, tomando como caso de estudio las plataformas de streaming nacionales Choloflix y Touché Premiere. Se trata de comprender si la pandemia significó un retroceso para la producción nacional o si provocó estrategias innovadoras de creación y distribución, como las plataformas de video por streaming con contenidos multimedia. Los resultados obtenidos nos llevan a concluir que el cine nacional no se detiene y que, en medio de una crisis evidente, está incursionando en nuevos escenarios, las plataformas virtuales, en donde los productores audiovisuales tienen el reto de provocar y dar solución a los requerimientos del arte con propuestas tecnológicas, conceptuales y estéticas.
