El estudio se realizó bajo la Teoría Bioecológica de Bronfenbrenner y se desarrolló con un enfoque cuantitativo no experimental, de corte transversal y correlacional. Los datos se recopilaron desde fuente primaria, participaron 40 mujeres gestantes hospitalizadas en la sala de Alto Riesgo Obstétrico, con edades entre los 19-36 años. Se aplicaron una encuesta sociodemográfica, la Escala de Bienestar Psicológico de Ryff (α>0,899) y la Evaluación de la Vinculación Afectiva y la Adaptación Prenatal EVAP (confiabilidad de 0,841). Los resultados indican en primer lugar mayor prevalencia de bienestar psicológico en grado alto (52.5%), seguido de bienestar psicológico en grado elevado (37.5%), luego bienestar psicológico en grado moderado (5%), y, finalmente bienestar psicológico en grado bajo (5%); en segundo lugar, mayor prevalencia de vinculación afectiva materno-fetal grado alto (95%), seguido de vinculación afectiva materno-fetal grado moderado (5%); en tercer lugar, no se determinaron relaciones entre las dimensiones del bienestar psicológico con el vínculo afectivo materno-fetal; en cuarto lugar, se determinó una relación débil entre el bienestar psicológico y el vínculo afectivo materno-fetal. La prueba de hipótesis indicó conservar la hipótesis nula que indica que no existe relación entre el grado de bienestar psicológico y el grado de vínculo afectivo materno-fetal puesto que en la población de estudio el lazo emocional tiende a ser de grado alto en el 95% de los casos, pese a la relación general existente.The objective of this research is to determine the relationship between psychological well-being and maternal-fetal bonding in women with high-risk pregnancies at a hospital in Quito, Ecuador. The study is framed by Bronfenbrenner's Bioecological Systems Theory and employs a nonexperimental, cross-sectional, and correlational quantitative approach. Data were collected from a primary source: 40 pregnant women aged 19-36 years, hospitalized in the High Obstetric Risk ward. Participants completed a sociodemographic survey, the Ryff Psychological Well-Being Scale (α > 0.899), and the Affective Bonding and Prenatal Adaptation Assessment, which has a reliability of 0.841. The results show the following: first, the highest prevalence is of high psychological well-being (52.5%), followed by moderate (37.5%), and low psychological wellbeing (5%). Second, maternal-fetal bonding is predominantly high (95%), with moderate bonding at 5%. Third, no significant relationship was found between the dimensions of psychological well-being and maternal-fetal bonding. Finally, a weak relationship was identified between psychological well-being and maternal-fetal bonding. Hypothesis testing indicated that the null hypothesis should be retained, meaning there is no significant relationship between the degree of psychological well-being and maternal-fetal bonding.
