La investigación se desarrolló de acuerdo con los lineamientos metodológicos de una investigación tipo descriptiva y bibliográfica, la cual detalla las variables Método de autoevaluación y la habilidad para hablar, para lo cual se examinaron diversas fuentes primarias y secundarias que pudieran demostrar su efectividad, aplicabilidad y limitaciones. Asimismo, se realizó un extenso trabajo de exploración y síntesis en el cual se consultó bases de datos académicas tales como Dialnet, Redalyc, Google Scholar, Research Gate y repositorios digitales de diferentes universidades . Por otro lado, esta investigación tomó en consideración varios estudios cuyos resultados y hallazgos revelaron los aspectos más importantes a considerar para que los profesores logren implementar procesos de autoevaluación efectiva. En conclusión, la autoevaluación es un método útil para mejorar la expresión oral en inglés. Sin embargo, tiene limitaciones, como la necesidad de que los alumnos tengan un cierto nivel de autoconciencia y la posibilidad de sesgo. No obstante, la autoevaluación puede ayudar a los alumnos a identificar sus puntos fuertes y débiles, fijar objetivos y tomar medidas para mejorar su rendimiento.The primary objective of this bibliographic project was to explore and analyze the efficacy of self-assessment in enhancing oral proficiency in the English language. The research adhered to the methodological principles of a descriptive and bibliographic study, focusing on the variables of Self-assessment Method and speaking ability. A thorough examination of various primary and secondary sources was conducted to establish the effectiveness, practicality, and limitations of Self-assessment. Additionally, an extensive exploration and synthesis phase involved consulting academic databases such as Dialnet, Redalyc, Google Scholar, Research Gate, and digital repositories from diverse universities. Moreover, this research considered multiple studies which outcomes and discoveries illuminated crucial aspects for educators aiming to implement successful self-assessment processes. In summary, the method emerges as a valuable method for improving oral expression in English. However, it is not without its constraints, requiring students to possess a certain level of self-awareness and susceptible to potential biases.
