Sumari:Sizing or scaling-up a pilot plant to obtain serum with Cannabidiol (Cannabis sativa L.), shea butter (Vitellaria paradoxa), and avocado oil (Persea americana Mill.) A formulation was developed with the active ingredients of interest. The samples underwent stability tests where study factors such as concentration, humidity, and temperature conditions were determined and evaluated through statistical analysis. Data for the sizing of the pilot plant were defined with the results obtained. Furthermore, diagrams were also required for the design of agitation tanks and a liquid dosing dispenser. To achieve this, mass balances were performed along with the application of a scaling algorithm. Finally, the dimensions of the equipment were determined and represented in a P&ID diagram of the pilot plant for serum production. It was concluded that in order to obtain accurate sizing of a serum pilot plant, a balance as well as an applied algorithm are important to achieve optimal dimensions of equipment such as agitators and a dosing hopper, thereby resulting in a final pilot-level diagram in accordance with the entire research study conducted.
