Elaboración de protocolo para evaluar la digestibilidad aparente de alimentos proporcionados a osos andinos (Tremarctos ornatus) en cautiverio. Revisión sistemática

The Andean Bear is a species little studied, so through this systematic review a protocol has been developed that allows evaluating the apparent digestibility of the food provided in captivity to the Andean Bear (Tremarctos ornatus), through the use of research, scientific articles and books published in the period 2010-2020. For the development of the protocol, the use of the PUBMED, VetRecord and SciELO platforms was established to search for articles or studies related to the subject. In addition, the PRISMA method was used, together with the PRISMA flow chart and Checklist to obtain more precise and transparent data. The Mendeley platform was used for citations, references and bibliography. Within the protocol is described the methodology that was used by different authors to evaluate the apparent digestibility of specific diets provided to various mammals in captivity; This information was compiled from 21 articles found in the previously mentioned platforms, which are classified in several points, among which we find: record management (animal data, feeding data, sample data), facilities (individual spaces), management of animals (health status and behavior), feeding of animals (adaptation periods), data and sample collection (collection time), sample conservation (temperature), laboratory analysis (AOAC Standards) and finally finalization ( obtaining results). The information collected was extrapolated for the elaboration of the protocol destined to the evaluation of the digestibility of the Andean Bear, as a contribution to the few studies of this species.
