The practice of regular physical activities to keep an active and healthy body has become a genuine interest to young people, compelling them look for tools, implements and different sports products. One of the difficulties to face at practicing physical activities is energy consumption; thus, athletes require special products to help them recover such loss of energy. This is why there is the opportunity to create a Guayusa-based energy chewing gum, which is a plant from the Ecuadorian Amazon, naturally caffeinated with antioxidants and amino acids, perfect to be used as an energetic product. PowerGum is the company that will produce and commercialize this product that will be offered to all athletes. This natural product substitutes chemical products and is Ecuadorian. The company shall enter into a strategic alliance with Confiteca C.A. who will be responsible for the maquila operation of the final product. On the other hand, PowerGum shall remain as the owner of the product, its formula and trademark. According to market research, the potential target of the product could reach 15,743 people. The product has an acceptance of 92 percent, which shows this business feasibility The overall marketing strategy shall start developing the product applying the Porter is generic principles that focus on a segment or niche; that is, offer a unique product with the best value added directed to a sole segment. In this case, provide a natural energy product to athletes. The Guayusa chewing gum, mint flavored shall be packed in a 12-unit box.
