Description
Résumé:The present work offers the possibility to apply a new model of restructuring for the public space in urban environments results of an emergent development in their conurbations, commonly evidenced in Latin American cities; Ensuring a sustainable future and a local urban space suitable for the citizen. The document considers criteria raised in ecological urbanism by Salvador Rueda and its conception of sustainable city as the main characteristic for the quantification of the efficiency of urban space in it. These criteria derive in qualifying parameters that make it possible to diagnose the reality of the territory. The diagnosis shows indicators that are considered as potentialities and the ciencies that will be considered at the time of the new proposal of urban model, the new city model considers the pedestrian as the fundamental center for the development of strategies always considering it as the nucleus through which all urban development takes place. The place of intervention supposes a fundamental space for the sustainable development of the zone since it concentrates a great amount of activities; so the proposal seeks to consolidate local and sectoral centralities following the guidelines based on the Urban Planning Plan raised by the integrated project workshop AR0 960. This model has been applied in the urban environment of the El Beaterio fuel station located south of the city of Quito in the district of Brittany, which has been particularly chosen for reasons presented below. As a result, the intervention proposes to become an attractive space for citizens to contemplate the attributes and dimensions that exist in the territory, considering them as key to their future development and that is entirely committed to their needs.
