Shrnutí:The solution of the main problems that affect international relations in the contemporary era, such as internal or external armed conflicts and nuclear disarmament, considerably depend, on the negotiation processes that, in turn, contribute to improve quality of life worldwide. Unfortunately, not always these procedures imply solving these controversies, either due to the inability to reach an agreement or due to the inefficient and problems in applying the proposed solution. On this regard, the current research analyzes the main factors that explain the failure of the negotiation processes, applying for this purpose the Stockholm negotiations in the context of the conflict in Yemen, as a case study. For this end, a methodology based on the Brigid Starkey model will be applied, under a macro and micro level and its corresponding sublevels. In this way, it was found that both external and internal factors played an important role in determining the failure of the 2018 Stockholm negotiations.
