Identificación de los principales estresores percibidos por los conductores de autobús de la compañía CATAR, ruta Carcelen Bajo - Eloy Alfaro - El Ejido, durante horas pico de la ciudad de Quito

Considering the continuous amount of stressors bus drivers experience during their workday, the following question emerges: how much are bus drivers affected by these stressors? This research describes the main stressors that bus drivers were exposed on the CATAR company in route Carcelen Bajo-Eloy Alfaro-El Ejido during the week of January 4th through the10th, 2016. In addition, the psychological and physical impact on their integrity was evaluated. Likewise the existence of an increase of stressors was examined during times of high vehicular and civil congestion. To accomplish this, the source used was a quantitative research model, using the perceived stress scale for bus drivers by Boada, Prizmic, Gonzalez Vigil (2013) ELBUS-21. All data was processed by the statistical program SPSS. This data was processed into descriptive tables, correlation and reliability tests to obtain the final results. In the final results, an interesting common denominator was seen: the vast majority of stressors stimulus was perceived as moderately stressful stimuli except for vehicular traffic and passengers. However, paradoxically, drivers show a preference for routes with more people, something that possibly is attributed to the compensation model they handle.
