| Summary: | The present thesis work stems from the problem of high consumption of junk food on children, and the consequences are diseases such as obesity and overweight. Therefore, the aim of the project is to design a service that encourage children to eat healthy foods in school lunch. The Concepts for the project are the emotional design and food design. In the diagnostic phase, I did interviews with a nutritionist, a teacher, and fathers and mothers of families. The information obtained was essential to the set of the determinants of the service. In addition, I did surveys and a focus group with children of the La Unidad Particular Educativa La Presentación. This activity allowed me to understand the user and make a proposal of service according to their preferences and motivations. The main concepts of the service are the local identity, the gamification and food with super powers to allow children to perform their favorite activities. The brand and the characters that promote the service are Ecuadorian animals and they emerged from the information collected with interviews and focus group. In development, I used the tool food design target of Francesca Zampollo and Service Blue Print to understand each one of the elements that make up the service. The designed elements allow to generate a positive experience in users. An APP connects the user with the service and gives them the access to different functions. The food is delivered to each child and is colorful, fresh and striking. Other elements are packaging, registration and game board; that works in conjunction with the APP. The gamification elements are a story of a character, and a mask. Food is a complex system; therefore, the service motivates children to consume healthy food from various perspectives such as food, learning and play, and interaction with children and their families. The reason for this proposal is to contribute to the physical, emotional and intellectual well-being of children 5 to 7 years through this service. |
