| Izvleček: | The securitization of migration as a threat by states is a problem that demands the attention of academics and policy makers. This study contributes to the literature on migration securitization as a threat, which has mostly focused on studying this process in the context of the European Union. Through a case study of the current administration of President Donald Trump, a process of migration securitization is identified in his speeches in the context of national security from 2017 to 2019, as an existential threat to the societal security. This study demonstrates the use and application of more restrictive immigration policies with respect to previous administrations that have had implications in terms of restricting the entry of people through different routes and processes into the country |
