| Gaia: | The paper analyses whether the public policies of inclusion and equality for the LGBTIQ+ community in Ecuador, from 2014 to 2020, have been enough and effective to safeguard and protect the rights of diverse sex persons. Several public policies are reviewed through the cognitivist paradigm, using the process tracing method, commonly used in political science, and in conclusion, it is found that despite the diversity of guides, manuals and documents that seek to eliminate discrimination and promote inclusion of the members of the LGBTIQ+ community, there are still various problems for the correct implementation of these policies, due to the lack of evaluation processes, the existing bureaucracy and the constant rotation of public servants. The investigation is relevant because it is found that there are still cases of discrimination and hatred towards the LGBTIQ+ community in Ecuador. Keywords: LGBTIQ+, public policies, inclusion, equality, discrimination. |
