Description
Summary:In the present titling project a strategic plan for the conservation and sustainable use of amphibian-derived genetic resources has been made at the Jambatu Center, an Ecuadorian research center located in the San Rafael sector of the Rumiñahui canton in the province of Pichincha. For the design of the plan the objectives were two. The first was to develop a Biosafety Manual of the Jambatu Center that includes a theoretical framework, a risk assessment and a description of the Biosecurity measures and protocols that must be carries out to reduce biological risk in the areas and processes of manipulation of amphibians in captivity. The second objective was to propose a Draft Code of Bioethics applicable to the Jambatu Center, which supports compliance with the Biosecurity Manual. In this way, all members of the Jambatu Center will contribute technically, ethically and morally to the conservation and sustainable use of amphibian-derived genetic resources. The methods used to obtain the products were: research and analysis of academic information, application of surveys directed to the managers and operators, and observation.
