الملخص: | The objective of this study was to establish the ecosystem differences in terms of physical chemical and hydromorphological parameters of two rivers of the Ángel basin, and its influence on the ecological characteristics of aquatic macroinvertebrate populations in places with different types and levels of anthropic intervention. The parameters analyzed were electrical conductivity, pH, dissolved oxygen, turbidity and temperature. In addition the IHF and QBR indexes that evaluate the hydromorphological state of the rivers were analyzed. The samples studied were collected at parallel points to the natural area taken as a reference, and the areas related to potato and pasture crops. It was found that the samples corresponding to the reference area, possess the most optimal characteristics for the development of macroinvertebrates in terms of physicalchemical parameters and hydromorphological characteristics. The results referring to the abundance and dominant taxa, indicated that there is variability among the three zones studied; The potato area showed an abundance 28 percent greater than the pasture area, and 35 percent higher than the reference area. It was observed that the Chironomidae family, known for its high level of contamination tolerance, was less abundant in reference and grazing samples; the abundance found in samples related to natural vegetation was reduced by almost half with respect to samples from the potato area. The general pattern regarding the trophic structure was similar, the food functional group (GFA) of the collectors was dominant in the three study areas; predators-collectors were present only in the reference points, and carnivores-rippers and detritus-filterers were present only in potatoes samples points. This study confirmed the important role of the riparian forest in an aquatic ecosystem. The presence of the riverbank forest diminishes the effects of the land use changes, reason why its preservation is of paramount importance for the conservation of the aquatic ecosystems. |
