| Zusammenfassung: | Introduction: Musculoskeletal disorders are an occupational and public health problem. Worldwide, 30 percent of occupational comorbidities are due to musculoskeletal disorders. There is little data on the population working in the paper industry and musculoskeletal disorders in Ecuador. For this reason, the general objective of this study was to analyze the prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders in workers in the paper and cardboard industry in Ecuador. Materials and methods: A cross-sectional study were carried out. Data collection was carried out between March and May 2021, including a total of 213 participants in the study. The Nordic Standardized Musculoskeletal questionnaires, Effort Reward Imbalance and Overcommit, National Survey of Employment, Work, Health and Quality of Life of Workers were used. Results: In the various segments of the body, the prevalence of pain in the last 12 months in workers of the paper and cardboard industry was evidenced in: neck (43.66 percent), lumbar spine (42.72 percent) and shoulders (31.46 percent). The possibility of presenting lumbar pain in the last 7 days is 4.26 times more in people with effort-reward imbalance (OR: 4.26; CI 1.53 minus 11.81). Conclusions: It could be identified in the last 7 days. the association of pain and effort reward imbalance in the dorsal region. What is more. the prevalence of musculoskeletal disorders at the neck and lumbar region is evidenced in workers in the cardboard and paper industry. |
