Diseño y desarrollo de un plan de requerimiento de materiales en la empresa manufacturera de cofres funerarios, Ecuacofre

This thesis project was performed in a manufacturing company that produces funerary coffins. Ecuacofre is one of the pioneering companies that industrialized the production of funerary coffins in the country. Currently, the company is among the first industrialized companies with mass production of funerary coffins in the country. This thesis project was developed to help the company with its production procurement since its actual planning is very poor and limited. A material requirements planning was modeled in one of Microsoft Dynamics´ powerful ERP softwares. In recent years the company Ecuacofre has grown significantly. The actual plannification method is not enough to support the flows of information, materials and finished products in an efficient way. Once the MRP was developed and modeled in Microsoft Dynamics NAV, positive results were clearly obtained. The cost reduction obtained modeling with the MRP system is significantly noticeable in the inventory area. Additionally, "stock-outs" are avoided at all levels of products; raw materials, materials, sub-components and final products. By the correct planification of supply inputs for production using the MRP system shws a significant improvement for the company.
