Descripció
Sumari:In this investigation talks about all the current problems faced by Ecuadorian women who are part of the group of rock in Quito, as members of bands and as followers. Through a mixed methodology, which uses techniques as observation, observation of members, full interviews and surveys, we find imaginary and dynamics of gender which are present in this area. In Quito, our rock subculture started around 1971 with the rock band La Tribu, its leader, Ramiro Acosta, who was one of the organizers of the first rock festivals in the capital, such as The First Modern Music Festival which was placed in the Concha Acustica at Villaflora. From the beginning, this movement has to deal with social rejection and discrimination because of the stereotype of its ideology and clothing. Also, there are some others elements which have characterized this scene in the capital, as the big division between north and south rockers. This rock scene, in Quito, has been mostly integrated by men, for this reason, it has been generally understood as a male space, however, its members recognize that more and more women are joining them, as musicians or as audiences. This project identifies the changes and non-changes inside of this scene about imaginary and gender speeches from their members, with emphasis on the female rockers.
