Mercado artesanal la Mariscal

The Mariscal Sucre neighborhood is one of the most representative of the city. Its historical, cultural and architectural heritage make it one of the most important tourist spots in the city. However, the neighborhood has gone through a process of decline due to the rise of insecurity in the pink zone that is established on the Plaza el Quinde and its surroundings. Much of the population has been leaving the neighborhood to new residential sites due to this problem. Another important factor to mention is the lack of recreational spaces and social facilities. Considering these facts, an urban plan has been developed, that seeks to recover La Mariscal, this plan acts in three main areas: heritage, public space and structuring projects. As part of the development of structuring projects, the aim is to strengthen existing facilities in the sector. The Artisan Market is one of the emblematic sites of La Mariscal, its a recognized urban landmark in the sector, its considered a very important economic and cultural engine. The present project seeks to enhance the Artisan Market, generate a space suited to the needs of artisans and provide users with a space for social and cultural interaction.
