Özet:The “El Beaterio” zone in the south part of Quito has shown different problematics of morphology and territory occupation. Its unfinished tracings, the lacking of public spaces and its poor quality have been the main reasons to search for a better image, organization, and efficiency of the district. Emphasizing in the theories of Ecologic Urbanism and the denominated “Superblock” the territory was classified in different morphological typologies to group and check the case studies. Afterwards, they were compared with the neighborhoods in process of complementation and consolidation establishing an ideal case study, in this situation the neighborhood unnamed 27, located to the east between the Caupicho hill and the knoll of San Antonio. Once it was determined the study case, it has been made an analysis of the physical, morphologic, urban quality, environmental, technological and risky aspects that concluded in a practical diagnose of all the urban theories studied through the conceptual approach strategies. Finally, for the urban design proposal, the area was divided in four superblocks as optimal cells of intervention, allowing the possibility to improve the urban quality of specific sectors of the zone and the neighborhood with elements such as the sectorial park, the creation of a pedestrian passage to the church and the central square, as well as the rehabilitation of two typologies of public spaces in main and secondary roads that could be replicated.
