Resumo:The objective of this research work is to define the traditional game in the achievement of Block 1 of Language and Culture, in sixth-year students of Basic General Education. The purpose of this research on traditional games can be multifaceted and vary depending on the context; these activities not only have a playful value, but also play a significant role in the formation of cultural identity, personal development and social cohesion. These components offer a wide range of opportunities for the integral development of students, addressing physical, social, cultural, cognitive and emotional aspects, which can be used effectively in educational settings to enrich the learning experience of students. Through the use of qualitative and quantitative data, it is possible to preserve different traditional games that exist in our country, which is why, for this research project, a mixed methodology was used: based on the surveys applied to the students, it was possible to show different points of view (good and bad) about traditional games in the development of language and culture; based on the interview with the teacher in charge of the Language and Literature area, a methodological guide was built and given to provide direction and resources to develop effective and enriching learning experiences for students in the sixth year of basic general education, parallel "A", with the use of traditional games
