objective of this research is to analyze how the work of foreigners affects the deterioration of the labor market in Lago Agrio; due to the significant increase in migrants since 2016, which has generated a negative impact for Ecuadorians in terms of the labor market. It is worth mentioning that the country has gone through an economic recession since 2019 due to COVID-19. Therefore, the need to investigate the topic raised arises since there is limited access to decent employment by Ecuadorians, a situation that is generated because migrant labor is cheaper. Furthermore, work is a fundamental right that appears in the Constitution of Ecuador, which adds that there must be a salary that allows them to cover their needs and helps them support themselves. The methodology applied is mixed, the qualitative part will be based on a bibliographic study on how the work of foreigners affects the deterioration of the labor market. Furthermore, the quantitative part will be based on the use of applied techniques for data collection such as surveys and interviews, because statistical data will be obtained through visits to both public and private work centers in the Lago Agrio Canton. It should be added that it is a field investigation, so that through the data obtained the existing reality in the Country regarding the topic will be evident. Without leaving aside that, being a descriptive research, it will show the situation of Ecuadorian workers and the activities carried out by migrants in Ecuador. At the conclusion of the investigation, a proposal is formulated to regulate and control the employment of foreigners in companies located within the Lago Agrio Canton.
