Samenvatting:The present research project was carried out with the purpose of determining the presence of Burnout Syndrome associated with the working conditions of the nursing staff. Based on this motivation, quantitative research with descriptive depth was designed, where the general objective was to determine the presence of the Burnout Syndrome associated to the working conditions of the nursing staff of the emergency service of the Hospital Provincial General Docente Riobamba. With a population of 26 professionals, the questionnaire created by Cristina Maslach "Maslach Burnout Inventory" was used as a technique and instrument for data collection, which showed that there are signs of Burnout Syndrome in 5 professionals at a mild degree, 20 at a moderate degree and 1 nurse at a severe degree, in terms of its dimensions it was shown that 14 of them corresponding to 53. 85% present medium emotional exhaustion, 5 nurses equivalent to 19.23% have depersonalization at medium level and 7 professionals corresponding to 26.92% have a medium level of alteration in personal fulfillment. With regard to the degree of BS and the associated working conditions, in terms of age it was determined that 20 of them have a moderate degree of burnout syndrome and the most affected are between the ages of 36-40 and 41-45 years, similarly in relation to the years of experience it was found that the most affected have 11-15 and 16-20 years of experience, in terms of patients assigned to shifts are reflected harmed nurses who have 21-30 patients. Through this research it was possible to conclude that burnout syndrome is associated with working conditions in the nursing area.
