Özet:The present research report carried out in the “5 de Octubre” Education Unit of the Echeandía canton. It analyzed the methodological strategies for an adequate integration of didactic material in the process of reading and writing. It was determined that there is a problem since traditional processes and strategies are constantly used, often causing difficulty for students in learning and interpreting the information provided by the teacher. Methodological strategies should arouse the student’s interest in learning and above call capture their attention with all the didactic material provided by the teacher. For this reason, the objective of the study was to develop a didactic guide based on methodological strategies applied when using didactic material, aiming to develop the reading, and writing skills of third grade students “A” and “B”. This entire process is carried out through the use of various research method and a qualitative approach to support this research work. The results of this research showed that teacher only use traditional didactic material, such as sheets or posters. The methodologies that stood out the most among the teachers were short reading cutouts, cards, especially the underlining method. On the contrary, the proposal presents a didactic material in the form of a model, and to balance the methodological currently used by teachers, it includes a didactic material developed creatively with cutouts and sheets to awake students’ interest in learning and enhance the reading and writing teaching-learning process
