La brecha digital y su incidencia en los procesos comunicacionales de los pobladores del recinto Chaquiragra, cantón Chimbo, provincia Bolívar, durante el año 2024.

The study analysed the impact of the digital divide on communication processes in the community of Chaquiragra, Chimbo canton, Bolivar, during 2024, using a mixed approach with surveys, observation and interviews applied to 117 inhabitants selected by targeted sampling. The results showed that the digital divide limits access to information and communication due to socioeconomic and educational factors, with a predominance of basic mobile phones, while access to advanced devices and the internet is limited. The community has low levels of education, mostly incomplete primary education, and is dependent on agriculture, which perpetuates digital exclusion and hinders technological development. To address this issue, a basic digital communication training programme was implemented, which improved villagers' skills in the use of tools such as messaging applications, strengthening communication between school, families and the community. The programme highlighted the importance of reducing the digital divide and promoting technological skills, and therefore recommended improving the technological infrastructure and ensuring the sustainability of these initiatives through public policies and strategic alliances that promote inclusive development in the community.
