| Summary: | ABSTRACT Obstetric psychoprophylaxis is a procedure that allows comprehensive, theoretical, physical and psycho-affective preparation provided to women during their gestation, delivery and postpartum period, in order to achieve healthy and positive obstetric conditions for the mother and her child. With this background, the investigation called "Effectiveness of psychoprophylaxis during pregnancy in the Naranjito Health Center, Naranjito canton, Guayas province, period May-August 2021" was raised. The objectives of this research were: To characterize socio-demographically the study population, Identify the application of the technical regulations of psychoprophylaxis in pregnant women who attend childbirth at the Naranjito Health Center, Identify the maternal perinatal benefits that it provides psychoprophylaxis during pregnancy. It was proposed to carry out a descriptive, cross-sectional and correlational research. The study population was 25 women who attended the psychoprophylaxis sessions offered by the Naranjito Health Center. Within the data collection techniques and instruments, direct observation, a survey with questions related to socio-demographic characteristics, psychoprophylaxis in its phases of dilation, expulsion, and delivery were applied. Likewise, interviews were conducted with women in the puerperium state to learn about their experiences and the perception of the efficacy of psychoprophylaxis. Among the main results obtained, it is mentioned that 100% of the pregnant women received psychoprophylaxis, who also stated that they had not had complications during pregnancy; highlighting that in a large part of the cases (77%) they had a decrease in the time of the dilation phase with respect to the mean of normal dilation. Most of the women evaluated are between 15 and 20 years of age, denoting the existence of a high percentage of early pregnancy and likewise most are in a free union marital status and have a high school education degree. xv There was high effectiveness in the dilation period with 78.85%, in the second stage with 71.2% and in the delivery period with 77%. This denotes the fulfillment of the preventive role to achieve a healthy pregnancy, which reduces the possible presence of obstetric risks and complications. Therefore, obstetric psychoprophylaxis presented several benefits not only for the pregnant woman but also for her family and health personnel. Finally, it was determined that the results obtained are in accordance with the provisions of the Technical Standard for Obstetric Psychoprophylaxis and Perinatal Stimulation proposed by the Ministry of Public Health of Ecuador, since comprehensive preparation was offered to women during their gestation period, delivery and postpartum, which provided a series of benefits to the mother, child and health personnel with the aim of maternal and perinatal morbidity and mortality rates.
