The results showed that the heart rate showed a significant difference between both groups in all the minutes analyzed, unlike the variables respiratory rate, oxygen saturation, rectal temperature and time or anesthetic effect that did not show a significant difference between them, finally the variable anesthetic depth determined that both anesthetic protocols maintained a type 4 surgical anesthesia in 95% of a total of 20 rabbits analyzed. Therefore, it is concluded that the anesthetic group KD is safe to be used as an anesthesia protocol in rabbits, since the variables studied and compared with the KMPS protocol did not present risks that compromised the life of the anesthetized rabbits in the present investigation. |

Therefore, it is concluded that the anesthetic group KD is safe to be used as an anesthesia protocol in rabbits, since the variables studied and compared with the KMPS protocol did not present risks that compromised the life of the anesthetized rabbits in the present investigation.La investigación tuvo como objetivo evaluar un protocolo anestésico de ketamina y dexmedetomidina en conejos (Oryctolagus cuniculus), se seleccionó 20 animales adultos sanos, entre 6 meses a 1 año de edad, y se los dividió en dos grupos: protocolo de ketamina, midazolam, propofol y sevoflurano (KMPS), y el grupo correspondiente al protocolo de ketamina y dexmedetomidina (KD); en la cual se evaluó la frecuencia cardíaca, frecuencia respiratoria, saturación de oxígeno, temperatura rectal, efecto anestésico el cual se lo analizó mediante el uso de la escala de Aldrete de recuperación posanestésica, y finalmente el nivel de profundidad anestésica mediante la escala de estados anestésicos y escala atribuida. Los resultados mostraron que la frecuencia cardíaca mostró diferencia significativa entre ambos grupos en todos los minutos analizados, a diferencia de las variables frecuencia respiratoria, saturación de oxígeno, temperatura rectal y tiempo o efecto anestésico que no mostraron diferencia significativa entre ellos, finalmente la variable profundidad anestésica determinó que ambos protocolos anestésicos mantuvieron una anestesia quirúrgica tipo 4 en un 95% de un total de 20 conejos analizados.
