| Sumario: | The present researching work includes the development of cognitive skills for academic improvement in students from the seventh level of Intercultural Bilingüe school "Tinku" of Bolivar Province, Guaranda city, Parroquia Veintimilla in the 2009-2010 academic year considered as background that are gaps in the application of the development of cognitive skills in English Language teaching process, because of the teachers do not change the teaching of traditional learning. Because of the rationale for this work aims to investigate the skills that are being used by the teachers and determine if the processes of teaching are in according with existing studies. Given the problems referred to the lack of teaching strategies are stablished as a general objective: to investigate the cognitive skills in the pedagogic process that the teachers for the development of its class, and improve the quality of education. Our specific objective is to propose a Didactic Guide about the skills to develop the students intellectual. As hypothesis by means of the development of new cognitive skills we.Get develop the intellectual level of the students. It has been proved by means of the approaches. Operationalization of variables is obtained questionnaire open-ended questions that were instrumental techniques used and the respective surveys. Chapter I. - Framework contains all the scientific literature on cognitive skills in English language teaching process. Then the legal framework which is based on the implementation of the education law, regulations, statutes of higher education. The conceptual theory that involve all the concepts that are of interest in the researching. The referential theory on which try the history of the educative institution where was conducted the investigation. Chapter II. - The methodology is developed using the methods: Inductive, Deductive and Logical. The universe and sample considered was of 12 students and 7 teachers. Chapter III. - For the analysis and interpretation of results we used descriptive criticism elaborating frequency table with its source and chart with its own analysis and interpretation, concluding that the cognitive skills must be applied by teachers to better intellectual level of students. Recommended that this researching work is applied and it becomes a starting point for the implementation of new proposals to improve the quality of education. Chapter IV.–It is the proposal that we develop a cognitive skills tutorial in English language teaching process. |
