Summary: | The present study was carried out with the intention of demonstrating that thought the proper use of artistic activities in the classroom, satisfactory emotional development can be achieved in 4 to 5-years old boys and girls at the “Verbo Divino” Educational Unit. In this way, the aim is to bring out a change in teachers’ perspectives regarding the contributions of art to children, leading to an increase in artistic activities in class planning. The population universe consists of three parallel classes with a total of 91 boys and girls. The selected sample was from parallel “B”, corresponding to Initial II (4 to 5 years old), with 31 students, including 16 boys, 15 girls and 1 teacher. The methodology employed included bibliographic, descriptive, and exploratory studies, using inductive-deductive, analytical and action research methods. The data collection involved observation sheets for children and survey for the teacher, each containing 15 items related to the class dynamics and understanding of how artistic activities influence emotional development. Finally, the proposed titled “The emotions fair” was unveiled. This involved a roulette wheel with 10 artistic activities such as singing, dancing, paining, crafts, drawing, theater, among others. These activities contributed to enhancing the children’s performance, allowing them to feel free to express their emotions and feelings, thereby improving communication with their surroundings, particularly in a dynamic and enjoyable manner |
