| Summary: | Kichwa is considered a sacred and patrimonial language, within Ecuador, even so, its use is very minimal, even being considered extinct, leaving great doubts about the factors involved or what processes are followed for this language to be considered endangered. , Diglossia is a term little known within society but applied unconsciously within indigenous groups, in the present investigation we seek to identify the factors that are involved when generating diglossia in the Mariscal Sucre community, following from a hypothesis, theoretical lines, that have helped the application of surveys in search of clear answers, taking into account the different spaces where individuals develop, the years have passed and the indigenous roots could be deteriorating since despite the fact that the residents define themselves as indigenous, their most applied language within formal and informal spaces is Spanish, due to the fact that Spanish has become more valid than a language that has been inherited since ancient times in Ecuadorian territory, the theoretical lines are clear taking into account Luhmann, Fishman, authors within the sociological branch, carried with a clear objective that is to determine both the factors and their impact within the community in a collective and individual way. It is also sought to give the necessary importance not only to the term of diglossia in Spanish with Kichwa, but also to show the characteristics, riches that each of these towns located in different areas such as the coast, mountains and Oriente, since maintaining this identity is maintaining the essence of being Ecuadorian and what makes us stand out internationally, the most convenient results are aspired for this research, reaching the attention of new researchers.
