| סיכום: | Diabetes is a disease considered a chronic degenerative disease that changes the quality of life of people who suffer from it due to the different complications that occur throughout its development, causing disabilities and even death. The diabetic foot is the most common due to the poor lifestyle that patients lead once this disease is diagnosed, as well as the lack of knowledge in self-care of the same. That is why this research study was carried out with the objective of developing a nursing care process in older adult patients with diabetic foot in the Internal Medicine area of the Alfredo Noboa Montenegro Hospital based on the self-care model during the January-April period. 2023, with the purpose of promoting the level of self-care and knowledge of older adults, having been defined as quantitative, descriptive, field study and cross-sectional in nature, there was a population of 20 older adult patients diagnosed with diabetic foot from the Hospital In mention, having used a survey, the EXCEL computer program was used to process this information, which makes it clear that the level of knowledge of older adults about the pathology they suffer from is poor and in terms of self- care it is not adequate, based on the aforementioned results, a proposal for a nursing care plan aimed at patients and socialized to the Internal Medicine nursing staff was developed, concluding it can be stated that said proposal will allow patients to be empowered about their pathology and promote self-care improving your quality of life.
