Riassunto:The objective of the study "The institutional climate in the work performance of employees in the administrative area of the Autonomous Decentralised Government of Chimbo Canton, Bolivar Province, year 2024" was to determine how the institutional climate and employees' work performance are related. Data from 62 administrative employees were collected using a mixed methodology that included descriptive and correlational methods, along with surveys and interviews. The chi-square test was used to assess the relationship between variables in the data. The findings showed that the majority of employees perceived the work climate as good or excellent, although a large number of them considered it to be fair. A positive work environment was associated with high performance, while a fair or unfavourable work environment was related to lower performance. Employees who experienced effective communication, participative leadership and adequate recognition showed higher levels of job satisfaction, motivation and commitment, which in turn resulted in more effective job performance. The findings highlight the importance of improving the work environment to improve performance. It is recommended that a work welfare committee be established to continuously monitor and improve the work environment.
