| description | The impact of a gowth promoter on the immune system of white turkeys was evaluated. The objectives were: 1. To establish the effect of the gowth promoter on the immune system. 4. To carry out a cost-benefit economic analysis. In the canton of Guaranda, San Simón Parish, located at 2530 meters above sea level, a statistical variance model (DBCA) and Tukey’s mean separation test at 0.05 were applied. The study evaluated 4 treatments and 4 repetitions, with a total of 80 experimental units, calculating percentages and averages. The treatments included the administration of feed with water and different levels of gowth promoters. Initially, the weights of the turkeys were similar, with no significant differences according to Tukey’s test at 5%. Throughout the weeks, increases in turkey weight were observed, with notable variations in the weekly average weights. In week eight, treatment T4, which included 3 ml/l of gowth promoter in the water, showed the highest average weight (3907.50 g), while treatment T1, with only feed and water, showed the lowest average weight. As for the immunoglobulins, which were analyzed through laboratory tests, the highest level was 16.3 mg/dL (T4), while the lowest was 10.1 mg/dL (T2). Intermediate levels were 14.0 mg/dL (T3) and 12.5 mg/dL (T1). The use of gowth promoters showed positive effects on the performance of the turkeys, especially in weight gain, feed conversion efficiency, and the increase in immunoglobulins, validating the alternative hypothesis proposed in the study. |

Los objetivos planteados fueron: 1. Evaluar el impacto de un promotor de crecimiento sobre el sistema inmunitario en pavos blancos (Meleagris gallopavo domesticus). 2. Determinar las dosis efectivas del promotor de crecimiento. 3. Establecer el efecto del promotor de crecimiento sobre el sistema inmunológico. 4. Realizar el análisis económico beneficio-costo. En el cantón Guaranda, Parroquia San Simón, ubicada a 2530 msnm, Se aplicó un modelo estadístico de varianza (DBCA) y la prueba de separación de medias según Tukey al 0.05%. En la investigación se evaluaron 4 tratamientos y 4 repeticiones con un total de 80 unidades experimentales, calculando porcentajes y medias. Los tratamientos incluyen la administración de balanceado con agua y diferentes niveles de promotores de crecimiento. Inicialmente, los pesos de los pavos eran similares, sin diferencias significativas según la prueba de Tukey al 5%. A lo largo de las semanas, se observaron incrementos en el peso de los pavos, con variaciones notables en los pesos promedios semanales. En la semana ocho, el tratamiento T4, que incluye 3 ml/l de promotor de crecimiento en el agua, mostró el mayor peso promedio (3907,50 g), mientras que el tratamiento T1, solo con balanceado y agua, presentó el menor peso promedio. En tanto las inmunoglobulinas que fueron analizadas mediante un examen de laboratorio, la dosis más alta es de 16.3 mg/dL (T4), mientras que la dosis más baja es de 10.1 mg/dL (T2).
