Resumo:The present research project, carried out at the “San Miguel” Educational Unit, addresses the importance of didactic strategies for strengthening argumentative reading of not literary texts for seventh grade children. A problem was identified related to the low level of critical analysis of not literary texts, caused by the use of unconventional, traditional methods and limited student motivation. For this reason, the main objective was to design pedagogical strategies that help develop reflective thinking. A mixed method approach and a descriptive design were used, employing techniques such assurveys and interviews directed atseventh grade students and their teacher. The results showed that the application of didactic strategies significantly improved the ability to identify key ideas in a text, share opinions, and make well-founded judgments. In this context, an activity guide was designed as a proposal, based on the implementation of didactic strategies aimed at strengthening argumentative reading by promoting active, engaging, and meaningful learning.
