| Yhteenveto: | The research focuses on the experiences and adaptation of foreign students pursuing a Nursing degree at the State University of Bolívar during the academic period from September to December 2024. It has been evidenced that these students, in addition to the inherent demands of health training, must overcome particular challenges that significantly impact their university journey. Purpose: To explore the experiences of foreign nursing students through in-depth interviews that help understand, from the students' own perspective, the difficulties they face daily. Methodology: The research is qualitative, with a phenomenological approach, aiming to understand personal experiences, in this case, foreign nursing students. A structured interview, composed of 12 questions, was used and applied to 20 enrolled students who met the inclusion criteria. Similarly, the Atlas.ti 7.5 software was used for the analysis of the corresponding information. Results: Based on the provided information, 5 main categories were generated: motivation to study nursing, management of academic workload, cultural and social adaptation, interaction and support networks, and strategies to adapt to student life. From these categories, 15 subcategories were obtained that helped to better understand the information provided by foreign nursing students. Conclusions: The study revealed that foreign students face multiple challenges when embarking on their academic training in a new city. |
