Özet:In our country, the provinces of Cotopaxi, Tungurahua, and Carchi are the main producers of lettuce. In the province of Bolívar, their production is temporarily, mainly in family gardens. This investigation was carried out in the San Miguel Canton of the Bolívar Province. The objectives that were set were: i) To evaluate the agronomic and morphological characteristics of three varieties of lettuce. ii) Determine the best treatment to the chemical and organic fertilization of the crop, iii) Establish a Partial Budget Economic Analysis (AEPP) and the Marginal Rate of Return (TMR). A randomized complete block design (DBCA) was used in a 3x3 factorial arrangement with 3 repetitions. Factor A corresponded to the lettuce varieties (Patagonia, Winter and Grizzli) and factor B to fertilizations: chemical, organic and the absolute control without fertilization. A combined analysis of variance, Tukey test was used to compare averages of factor A and A x B interaction, correlation and linear regression analysis, economic analysis of partial budget and calculation of the Marginal Rate of Return. The most important variables that contributed to increase the yield were: Cabbage diameter (DR) with a highly significant effect on the yield, this is due to the different genotypic characteristics of the varieties, and the climatic conditions of the sector. The best yield was that of T8: A3B2 (Grizzli variety with organic fertilization) whose average reached 43869 Kg / ha. Finally, this research gave us a new alternative for agricultural production in the area.
