Sažetak:Generating a critical thinking process and an active construction of knowledge favors the connection between concepts and practice. The main purpose of the report is to use the heuristic vee as an educational methodology, which focuses on promoting the development of cognitive and metacognitive skills in an autonomous and reflective manner in the learning of natural sciences in fifth-year students of Basic General Education. The approach used in this research project was quantitative, with the collection of information through a structured interview applied to a population of 13 students and a fifth-year teacher of basic general education, members who are part of the Educational Unit “Isabel la Católica” located in the Guaranda canton, Province of Bolívar. The collection of data that was analyzed using an interpretive matrix, it is obtained that the heuristic V is not used as a teaching methodology. Based on this result, a teaching guide was developed on the use of the heuristic vee in the area of natural sciences to improve learning. Finally, it is concluded that the implementation of the heuristic vee as an educational methodology promotes intellectual autonomy, argumentative reasoning and critical thinking, since it is essential to achieve a significant and lasting learning process in our students
