Despite the fact that today, that is to say for the year 2022, the Ministry of Economic and Social Inclusion has managed to guarantee the right to economic protection of older adults in a situation of poverty and vulnerability with the issuance of the table of minimum food pensions, The problem of the present lies in the existence of misunderstandings of the obligations of the family towards the elderly in relation to the care they need beyond the pecuniary obligation. For the development of this research, a type of mixed research (qualitative and quantitative) was applied; in addition to what the scientific, dogmatic and documentary methods will be applied; At the same time, the survey technique and the research instrument of the survey sheet were also taken out, the same one that was applied to legal professionals with extensive knowledge in civil matters of the Guaranda canton, province of Bolívar, in order to comply with the proposed objectives. Regarding the expected results, it has been confirmed that the State with the establishment of food pensions has provided an effective response regarding the abandonment of the elderly, since it has been possible to guarantee the rights of the vulnerable population and in a situation of famine, Thus, through the economic provision of alimony for the obligated or obligated for the elderly, the latter is allowed to enjoy a decent life since the basic needs that every elderly person requires for their subsistence are covered, giving rise to that the family become aware and promote a shared commitment and responsibility among the members of a family. |
