| Samenvatting: | The objective of this research was to implement a proprioceptive program to prevent ankle sprains, the study has a mixed approach and a descriptive explanatory scope, the Star Excursion Balance Test (SEBT) was used to determine the level of ankle joint instability, the unit of analysis are ankle sprains in the 18 players (15-18 years) of the football team. The research has a pre-experimental pre and posttest design, that is, a group; in this case, the football team of the Captain Edmundo Chiriboga Educational Unit, the test was applied before the proprioceptive program and after it. In order to determine if the variables fit a normal distribution, the Shapiro-Wilk test was performed and it was found that all data are normal because they are greater than 0. 05 and to contrast the hypothesis the T-test for related samples, in which P-value = 0. 000 is less than α= 0,05 therefore there is a significant difference between the distances reached in the Star Excursion Balance Test before and after applying the proprioception program to prevent ankle sprains to football team players, this means that there is greater stability of the ankle joint and therefore less risk of suffering ankle sprains. It was concluded that after applying the proprioceptive program, the number of sprains decreased and the distance reached in the directions of the SEBT increased by 5%, which indicates greater joint stability. |
