Περίληψη:Experiences of mothers in phototherapy applied to their children, in neonatology at the Alfredo Noboa Montenegro hospital. Guaranda. March – June 2022. Purpose: To analyze the experiences of the mothers of neonates receiving phototherapy, in order to know their opinion, understand their emotions and strengthen nursing care, in the neonatology service of the Alfredo Noboa Montenegro provincial hospital in the Guaranda canton, at through the application of an in-depth interview, allowing them to understand their emotions and thus improve the quality of service provided to them in this health home. Methodology: The study is qualitative, exploratory, phenomenological-empirical applied during the months of January and February 2022 in 10 mothers with neonates undergoing phototherapy at the Alfredo Noboa Montenegro Hospital in the city of Guaranda. Results: As mothers who have lived this experience for the first time, being a very painful moment full of anguish, sadness and despair when they find themselves separated from their babies, at first, they thought the worst and that it was a very complex treatment, which probably would not work. On the other hand, some mothers already knew about the subject and they coped with it in a better way, but when the health personnel explained the procedure to them, they felt a little more secure and confident. Conclusions: The mothers who were part of the research are characterized by having been hospitalized and separated from their babies while they were under phototherapy, having to face situations of stress, sadness, anguish, fear, accompanied by moments of anxiety and depression.
