The purpose of this research is to establish differences between the application of the standardized nursing care process and the Virginia Henderson model aimed at the adult patient with open reduction of fracture with external fixation of the tibia and fibula; They consist of 5 stages: assessment, diagnosis, planning, execution and evaluation, to determine the unmet needs. This research is of a descriptive, longitudinal comparative design, quasiexperimental level, whose study population is 21 post-surgical trauma patients. For data collection, an assessment guide based on the Virginia Henderson model was used. As a result of the research, the elaboration of an assessment guide is achieved, based on the 14 needs of Virginia Henderson, through the application it was possible to identify the unmet needs that occur in patients with open reduction of fracture with external fixation of the tibia and fibula. 8 nursing care plans have been developed with Virginia Henderson's theory and 8 plans without theorizer; They seek to identify among themselves which one best meets basic needs. The SOAP was used as a health mnemonic to evaluate the 16 nursing care plans applied to patients, obtaining as a result a high significance in the plans with theory compared to plans without theory. |

The SOAP was used as a health mnemonic to evaluate the 16 nursing care plans applied to patients, obtaining as a result a high significance in the plans with theory compared to plans without theory.La reducción abierta es la intervención quirúrgica por la cual se reubica el hueso en su posición anatómica soldándose correctamente; gracias al método de fijación externa que aporta estabilidad mediante la introducción percutánea de tornillos, cada tornillo se introduce a través de la piel y el fragmento óseo y sale a través de la piel hacia el otro lado. Esta investigación tiene como propósito establecer diferencias entre la aplicación del proceso de atención de enfermería estandarizado y el del modelo de Virginia Henderson dirigidos al paciente adulto con reducción abierta de fractura con fijación externa de tibia y peroné; los mismos que constan de 5 etapas: valoración, diagnostico, planificación, ejecución y evaluación, para determinar las necesidades insatisfechas. Esta investigación es de diseño comparativo descriptivo, longitudinal, nivel cuasi experimental, cuya población de estudio son 21 pacientes del área post-traumatología quirúrgica, para la recolección de datos se empleó una guía de valoración en base al modelo de Virginia Henderson. Se consigue como resultado de la investigación la elaboración de una guía de valoración, basada en las 14 necesidades de Virginia Henderson, a través de la aplicación se pudo identificar las necesidades insatisfechas que acontecen los pacientes con reducción abierta de fractura con fijación externa de tibia y peroné. Se ha elaborado 8 planes de atención de enfermería con la teoría de Virginia Henderson y 8 planes sin teorizante; que buscan identificar entre ellos cual satisface mejor las necesidades básicas. Se aplicó como nemotecnia de salud el SOAP para realizar la evaluación de los 16 planes de atención de enfermería aplicados en los pacientes, obteniendo como resultado una elevada significancia en los planes con teoría frente a los planes sin teoría.
