| Gaia: | This study investigated the impact of continuous and interval training methods on improving the physical fitness of Middle School students. The issue stemmed from the concerning trend of sedentary behavior among the student population. To address this problem, an experiment was designed involving the application of two types of training over an 8-week period. The research follows a quantitative longitudinal approach with a correlational design. One group of students was assigned to the continuous training method, while another group participated in interval sessions. The focus of this study was to determine whether these two training methods could lead to significant improvements in the students' physical fitness. The Wilcoxon test, a non-parametric statistical method, was used to compare the two sets of related or paired data. This test was employed to analyze differences in outcomes before and after the 8-week training period in both groups. The results obtained from statistical analysis demonstrated that both continuous and interval methods led to significant improvements in the students' physical fitness. Both groups experienced measurable advancements in terms of endurance, speed, and other aspects related to physical fitness. This suggests that both continuous and interval methods can be effective in combating sedentary behavior and enhancing the students' physical health. This study provided robust evidence that the application of continuous and interval training methods can be a successful strategy for improving the physical fitness of Middle School students. The results obtained support the importance of implementing effective training programs in educational environments to counteract the negative effects of sedentary behavior and promote an active lifestyle among young individuals |
