| Résumé: | In the present research, the productive parameters of three growth promoters (CuyPak, Bicalfos, and Sel-Plex) were evaluated. The objectives were to determine the growth promoter with the highest weight gain, compare the final weights of guinea pigs, establish a feed conversion index, determine the mortality rate, and analyze the cost/benefit relationship. For this investigation, a randomized complete block designs (RCBD), with 4 treatments and 20 replications, totaling 80 experimental units, was used. The guinea pigs had an initial live weight of 350.84 g. Experimental results showed that, for the most part, the variables obtained marked statistical significance (**), indicating important differences in averages among treatments Sel-Plex, corresponding to treatment T3, was determined to be the growth promoter with the highest acceptance, as it consistently demonstrated the best productive parameters throughout the research. Treatment T3 (Sel-Plex) exhibited the highest weight gain among growth promoters, with a total weight gain of 389.15g. The final weight of T3 (Sel-Plex) was 739.9g, ±68g above T1 (CuyPak), which had the closest results (671.9g). T3 (Sel-Plex) showed the lowest conversion indices with an average of 4.81, making it the most efficient treatment in converting consumed food into live weight. Regarding the mortality rate (%), only one case of death was observed (0.8%). For the cost/benefit ratio, T3 (Sel-Plex) presented the best relationship with a cost/benefit index of $1.88. This indicates that for every dollar invested, the dollar was recovered, and an additional gain of 88 cents was achieved. |
