| Summary: | This research work seeks to find a solution to the problem given by the lack of responsibility of the parents and the consequences of the lack of commitment of the parents with their children in the school stage. This study addresses a little studied problem in the local environment, so it is about identifying the causes of the disinterest of parents with their children. The proposal of the study is to search for and describe the problems that students present when they do not have the support of their parents in carrying out school tasks, the causes that have caused this problem and the effects on school performance. The study is framed in a type of descriptive application study since it describes the characteristics of the learning process to be implemented. They are made up of a sample of 30 parents that make up the entire study population. The independent study variable is the responsibility of the parents, who applied the survey as an instrument to collect information. While the dependent variable is the development of children's learning. Finally, it was possible to determine that to improve school performance in children of the 7th parallel year "A" of the Multitude Educational Unit of the Alausí Canton of the Province of Chimborazo, it is necessary for parents to be involved in the education of their children. children.
