| Résumé: | Ecuador is located in an active seismic zone, that is why some earthquakes produced in the country show some problems directly related to the seismic-resistant design of structures. The objective of this research is to evaluate the physical-structural vulnerability to a seismic hazard of the CENI building of the UEB with the use of technological tools. The first instance research aims to determine the effects of the current conditions of the elements of the building and apply technical tools to verify the behavior of the structure and contribute to the institution, reducing the risks of these seismic events. The research methodology consists of a cross-sectional, descriptive and non- experimental study, using the Sclerometer to measure the structural elements, the FEMA 154 method for visual inspection and evaluation, and the CYPECAD software to model and obtain a vulnerability analysis. The results obtained; from the FEMA 154 evidences a High vulnerability degree, based on the parameters of irregularities in plan and elevation, as well as the type of soil in which the building is located, in the CYPECAD program, according to the reports the structure has torsion because the values of the first two modes of 0.9007 and 0.932 are close to 1 and also the vibration period does not meet the requirement established in the NEC 2014. Additionally, CYPE 3D was used to model the metal deck obtaining a resistance value that affects some trusses and purlins.
